WORLD DIABETES DAY

It is World Diabetes Day. Diabetes is called "the silent killer" because many people have diabetes and they don't have any symptoms. Over time diabetes can cause many serious health issues, some fatal. Do yourself a favour and ask your medical practitioner for a blood glucose test to see if you are at risk. The sooner it is detected, the quicker you can make some changes for better health. You're worth it!

WALK WITH GENERATIONS

PLEASE PUT THIS ON YOUR CALENDAR!
On July 27 The Boys and Girls Club is hosting seniors for a walk on the Boardwalk. The walk will pair seniors with the young leaders of our community, members of the club's Young Leaders Program. Along the 2 km walk there will be stops for storytelling, heritage, and social activities. The purpose is to bring the two generations together to learn from one another. The walk will be followed by a luncheon at noon, and a tour of the new Youth Engagement Centre. The walk will start at 10 a.m. You can get more information from EPSI at 902 888 2177 or by calling Jason at 902 303 1499 or emailing him at jgallant@ssidebgclub.com We have a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside of our EPSI office at Credit Union Place. The Club needs people to register, so they will know how much food has to be prepared. This sounds like a lot of fun. And it's a wonderful way for seniors to show their support to the kids in our community. Hope you will take part!
