PEI CANCER SOCIETY PRESENTATION

Most of us have been touched by cancer. EPSI is hosting the Canadian Cancer Society on Thursday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Inspire Learning Centre, 57 Central Street. We'll talk about prevention methods, what the Society can do for you, and you will learn about available supports in the PEI community. We hope you will be able to join us!

Basic Computer for Beginners

EPSI will offer a five-session basic computer for beginners class starting on Wednesday July 19 and for the next four Wednesdays.   They will run from 1-3 in the ADL Room at the Inspire Learning Centre, 57 Central Street.    Please call our office for details 902-888-2177.     You MUST register for this class, as we have a limited number of computers.     A few spaces left.   Please note - this is a very basic course for beginners.

Well this is a TREAT!    Young at Heart Musical Theatre for Seniors will present "Sing-Song Ping- Pong" on Sunday, May 28 at 2 p.m. at Summerside Presbyterian Church, 130 Victoria Road, Summerside.   The play is created and performed by Pamela Campbell and Nancy Beck.   NO ADMISSION.   ALL ARE WELCOME!

IT'S NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK!!

National Volunteer Week 2017 runs April 23 to 29.  

We are all aware of the abundance of volunteers we enjoy in our community, many of whom are seniors.   There is also a large group of people who do "informal volunteering".    That's when we do things like picking up our neighbor's mail for them, help someone needing a hand carrying their groceries out, or shovel the walkway next door....tasks we undertake on a regular basis, but don't necessarily call volunteering.

So regardless of which group you are in, be proud!   Where would we be without you?   On behalf of EPSI, I would like to thank our board, all of the speakers and presenters who deliver classes and workshops, as well as committees who make our programs work.

Artwork Has Arrived at Inspire Learning Centre!!

It was already AWESOME.........but the artwork by Island artists was hung in the Inspire Learning Centre yesterday......and WOW! If you haven't already been here, come. If you have, come back and see it now. And while you're at it, drop in and visit us. We're on the second floor. See you soon?

I purchased this book yesterday.   It is about a family who is touched by Alzheimer's, and it may offer people some words to help them explain the illness to children.    If you would like to borrow this book, just give me a call at 902 888 2177.    I would be happy to share it.    Gloria

Well, tomorrow is moving day for EPSI after almost seven years at CUP.    Time to say goodbye to the staff and patrons and a big THANK YOU to everyone for your cooperation and participation in EPSI activities.   We sincerely hope you will come visit us at the Inspire Learning Center at 57 Central Street.    We'll be on the second floor around the corner from the elevator.    Once we get settled, we will once again be offering workshops and classes, so watch our Facebook page, bulletin boards, and Community Happenings in the Journal to keep up to date.   See you soon???
