PUBLIC EDUCATION SESSION FOR AGE-FRIENDLY INITIATIVE

Have you been wondering what the City of Summerside's AGE-FRIENDLY CITY INITIATIVE is all about?

Here's your chance to find out! There will be an open community information session with Jim Hamilton as guest speaker on Tuesday, September 9 at Credit Union Place, starting at 7 p.m. Jim, who is from the University of Manitoba, is an expert in the WHO Age-friendly initiative, and he is excited to share his expertise. Light refreshments will be provided - it's a FREE session open to everyone. See you there?

NEW 10-DIGIT DIALING STARTS THIS WEEK!

This Saturday we start 10-digit dialing on PEI. This will mean you have to dial the area code, even for local calls. For those with cell phones or memory dial phones, you will have to ensure that the numbers in memory are stored with the area code as part of the number. And, even though it seems like a pain in the neck...............we'll get used to it.   :-)

BEGINNER COMPUTER COURSE COMING!

 

 

Do you have famiy members or friends who would like to learn to use a computer? We have another BEGINNER COMPUTER program starting on August 1! Four sessions will cover: the mouse, the keyboard, Internet searching (Google), and emailing. This is for people who do not currently use computers and it is an overview so that they can see if they have an interest in learning more. They can give us a call at 888-2177 and register for the program. It will be Friday mornings from 10 until noon on August 1, 8, 15, and 22.
